on culture and being disrooted from one’s origin place

There’s barely any place where I feel less welcome than in Chemnitz.

I’m disrooted, having encountered total rejection from the environment and origin culture in which I grew up in (like sure, they won’t kill me, but that’s seemingly the only thing that’s off-limits). Which tbh explains a lot about my takes on culture, etc… because I didn’t have any culture in my youth to start from, and thus had to search for other culture to associate to. A lot of it was originally just defined by defiance of everything that made my environment bad. Starting from a rejection of all authority because so far, I haven’t encountered any authority that was reliably good. Most authorities I encountered messed up originally-unfathomably badly. And like sure, ultimately I found a good culture. It’s a bit weird, tho. (my bubble + queer anarchism + some religious derivative from Islam + cultural derivative from Hellenism).
